Mr. Gilberg, a shareholder in the firm, has been practicing environmental law since 1981, concentrating in air quality and hazardous waste-related issues affecting manufacturing industries and economic development interests. Mr. Gilberg regularly handles complex and contested air, water, stormwater and waste-related permitting issues, surface and subsurface contamination problems, public and private environmental litigation and agency regulatory enforcement actions. Ambient and indoor air quality, water quality and availability, toxic substances, and matters involving the Texas Department of Health and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers are also an important part of his practice. A significant part of his practice also includes strategic environmental counseling and risk management in the purchase and sale of business interests and real estate. He also works on health and safety issues, including OSHA, MSHA, worker exposure, and asbestos matters. Mr. Gilberg is rated AV by Martindale-Hubbell and is listed among the Who's Who of American Lawyers.

Mr. Gilberg is actively involved in the community through his membership and participation with many local environmental organizations. He was recently named to the board of the Trinity Commons Foundation, which is the coordinating organization for various local, state and federal government initiatives and private financial interests in the Trinity River Corridor Project. He was the Dallas County Chair of the North Texas Clean Air Coalition from 1998-2004, and served as Chair of the Greater Dallas Chamber of Commerce Environmental Task Force in 1998. He is currently a Board Member of the Dallas-Fort Worth Ozone Non-Attainment Area Emissions Reduction Credit Organization, and previously served as its Chair in 1997-1998. He has been a Board Member of the North Texas Clean Air Steering Committee since 2004. Mr. Gilberg was a Board Member of the Air Quality Advisory Committee at the North Central Texas Council of Governments during 1995-1997. He is active in the Air and Waste Management Association, North Texas Chapter, serving as its Vice Chair in 1997-1998.

Mr. Gilberg has authored numerous publications concerning environmental topics and has been on the Editorial Board of Environmental Protection magazine since 1997. He is on the SMU Cox School of Business MBA Program's Advisory Committee for "Law for the Entrepreneur." He is a frequent speaker on a wide range of environmental topics and has been interviewed for radio, television, and written publications concerning the environment, particularly the management and control of air pollution.

Mr. Gilberg received his law degree, cum laude, from the Indiana University School of Law in 1981, and earned his undergraduate degree, with honors, from University of Virginia in 1977. He is admitted to practice in Texas and Illinois. Mr. Gilberg is a member of the State Bar of Texas Natural Resources and Environmental Law Section, and was its Chair 1999-2000. Mr. Gilberg is also a member of the Dallas Bar Association and was the Chair of its Environmental Law Section in 1991. Since 1981, he has been a member of the American Bar Association Section of Environment, Energy and Resources, and been a member of the Illinois State Bar Association Environmental Law Committee.
